Cyclist shot while riding in North York's Humber Summit neighbourhood

A man is recovering after being shot in the forearm while riding his bike in North York’s Humber Summit neighbourhood Monday night.

Police said the victim was on a bike on San Pietro Way, near Islington and Steeles avenues, around 8:50 p.m. Nov. 13.

“As he passed a vehicle, a gun was pointed at him and several shots were fired,” Toronto police spokesperson Const. Caroline de Kloet said. “The victim was hit in the forearm, and another vehicle was hit in the crossfire.”

The bicyclist was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

The occupant of the car that was hit by gunfire escaped injury.

Police describe the gunman as black, wearing a black hat and a light-coloured bandana over his face.
