Road work on Gerrard East in the Upper Beach still not done

News Nov 14, 2017 Beach Mirror

Ongoing road work continues to impact motorists on Gerrard Street East in the Upper Beach.

A few weeks ago, a contractor working on the project hit a now-repaired gas line, which caused a work stoppage.

According to a recent newsletter by Ward 32 Coun. Mary-Margaret McMahon, the city has since “identified some deficiencies” in the work done so far and is working with the contractor to address them.

“Unfortunately, the work on the top layer of asphalt cannot start until these issues have been resolved,” she wrote, adding the city hopes the contractor will finish this project by the end of the month.

“We are equally frustrated with this project and are continuing to monitor it closely.”

The project, which was initially slated to wrap up by the fall, is part of 2017 Capital Works program for renewing aging roads and sidewalks.

Anyone with further questions or concerns should email project manager Andrian Yaremko at Andrian.Yaremko@toronto.ca.
