Two suspects in Etobicoke murder turn themselves into police

Two men wanted on first-degree murder charges in connection with a Thursday daylight shooting in Etobicoke have turned themselves into Toronto police.

Police say both suspects surrendered to police Sunday night, Yahya Abdirahman Jama, 20, just after 6 p.m. and Zayd Q. Chaudhry, 19, just before 9 p.m.

The men - both from Toronto - are scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall this morning, 10 a.m.

Abdulkadir Bihi was shot while sitting in the front seat of his car around 2:45 p.m., Oct. 5, while outside an apartment building at 263 Dixon Rd., near Islington Avenue.

Once officers arrived, they located Bihi with gunshot wounds. The Toronto man was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Bihi is Toronto’s 47th homicide victim of 2017.
