Search warrant executed in Flemingdon Park shooting investigation

Toronto police have issued a public safety alert as they search for a 22-year-old man wanted for shooting a man in the Flemingdon Park area Saturday evening.

The incident happened near St. Dennis Drive and Linkwood Lane, which is in the vicinity of Eglinton Avenue and the Don Valley Parkway, around 6:20 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, who has been identified as Di’on Jahil Wong, allegedly fled the area in a grey car.

Known to drive a grey 2017 Dodge Charger with Ontario license plates BRFK-061, Wong is wanted for numerous firearm- and drug-related offenses as well as attempted murder.

A search warrant was executed today at Wong’s home. During that time, police seized a quantity of 2.17 grams of crack cocaine along with a shotgun with a folding stock, a bulletproof vest, homemade ammunition, and a large amount of paraphernalia used in the production of illegal drugs.

Wong, who is still outstanding, is described as black, 5’8” and 146 pounds with short curly black hair. 

Investigators are advising the public that he should be considered armed, violent, and extremely dangerous. Anyone who locates this man is advised to not approach him, but to cal 911 immediately.
