Man stabbed early this morning near Rogers Centre

A 20-year-old man was stabbed during an altercation with another male early Saturday morning in the vicinity of the Rogers Centre.

Toronto police received a call for fight near Lower Simcoe Street and Bremner Boulevard at 2:41 a.m. today.

“One of the combatants was armed with a knife,” said Toronto Police Const. David Hopkinson.

Once on scene, a man was located with stab wounds.

“He was looked at by paramedics and taken to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries,” Hopkinson said.  

Descriptive information was provided to police, who then searched the area and arrested a suspect. Charges are still pending.

Investigators are looking for more information.

“If somebody saw the incident, we would like them to contact us. We’re always looking for witnesses,” he said.
