Toronto police issue alert after projectiles hit women at TTC bus stop

Toronto police have issued a public safety alert after two women were struck by projectiles while waiting for buses in Scarborough.

Both incidents happened near Eglinton Avenue and Ionview Road, one block west of Kennedy Road, between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12.

In both cases, police said an “unknown projectile from an unknown direction” struck the women.

The victims, ages 22 and 43, received non-life-threatening injuries.

In the case of the 22-year-old woman, police said the projectile pierced her skin and she was taken to hospital.
