Toronto police hunt suspects in shootout on Warden Avenue

Toronto police are searching for suspects after armed people inside two vehicles began shooting at one another on Warden Avenue.

The vehicles were driving northbound on Warden when shots were exchanged. It happened at the beginning of rush hour at around 5 o'clock just north of Eglinton Avenue

Staff-Sgt. Rouette of 41 Division tells Metroland Media Toronto that for an unknown reason shots were fired between the two vehicles, before one of the vehicles crashed on the lawn of a home on Warden.

Witnesses claim to have seen up to four people running from the crash car. One suspect was found not far from the scene with a wound to his hand. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Emergency Task Force officers were canvassing the scene, along with the police canine unit. The forensic unit is now on scene gathering evidence.
