No injuries reported in Wigan Crescent fire in North York

Toronto Fire crews battled a two-alarm blaze at a North York home Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the home, on Wigan Crescent near Faywood Boulevard and Wilson Avenue, at 7:02 a.m.

“There were smoke and flames visible when we arrived,” Toronto Fire Services Capt. Mike Westwood said. “There’s one basement window breached. Smoke and flames were coming out of there.”

The blaze was brought under control at 7:22 a.m.

“The homeowner was away, so (there were) no occupants. We did search anyway and didn’t find anyone,” said Westwood, noting TFS investigators will determine the cause of the fire.

No one was hurt.
