Pedestrian struck in Cobourg parking lot Thursday, airlifted to hospital

COBOURG -- A pedestrian was struck in a serious collision in the Walmart parking lot Thursday night.

A 58-year-old man was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot on Strathy Road around 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, said Cobourg Police Service. The man was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital where his injuries later became life threatening, police said. The man was then airlifted a Toronto area hospital, police said.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation team was called to assist. Police said they are not releasing the name of the man as the incident is still under investigation.
