Residents in the Alder Road area now have improved access to Taylor Creek Park.

A new set of concrete stairs, to replace the old worn out steps made from wood and asphalt, were opened during a ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Beaches-East York Councillor Janet Davis was joined by a number of local youngsters to cut the ribbon the new stairs during the opening ceremony.

Davis said the new Alder steps, which will also have a bike track, will encourage residents to make use of Taylor Creek Park throughout the year.

“Taylor Creek Park is a green jewel for our community and without those staircases there simply wouldn’t be much access or use made of the park, particularly in the winter,” she said.
