TCHC reform meeting

Toronto Community Housing tenants at Cedarbrae Manor in Scarborough are asked at a meeting in April to comment on recommendations of the Mayor’s Task Force on Toronto Community Housing. Tenants First, a report based on those task force recommendations to Mayor John Tory’s Executive Committee on Tuesday, June 28, suggests turning 5,000 TCHC units to a cooperative housing, and transferring 5,000 more units to other non-profit housing providers in Toronto.

Vehicle crime ring dismantled

Police on Friday, Dec. 11, announced the arrests of 18 people in connection with a “sophisticated” crime ring alleged to be responsible for trafficking $30 million worth of high-end stolen vehicles from Canada to Ghana and Nigeria.

FoodShare is moving
