From his early years in internment camps, to his famed tenure on the Starship Enterprise and his current post at the summit of online superstardom, Takei’s ability to reflect on his own life experiences, coupled with his unique brand of intellectual levity, makes him one of the world’s most engaging speakers.
EARL BALES ART AND MUSIC FESTIVAL
This one-day annual event celebrating the arts and culture of North York and Toronto features performances by a variety of local musicians, displays by artists, food booths from local restaurants and activities for kids.
TASTE OF TORONTO
Taste of Toronto showcases the true flavours of the local food scene. Enjoy signature dishes from the city’s finest restaurants, learn tricks of the trade from world-class chefs and sample gourmet food and drinks, all in one place. This provides you with enough time to enjoy your pick of more than 50 restaurant dishes, browse the artisan stalls, and enjoy the many interactive on-site features.
Join organizers on the beach for the 10th annual Sandcastle Building Competition and bring your team early as The Beaches Cup is awarded promptly at 3 p.m. The competition is free to enter and open to anyone.
