As a way of saying thank you to local residents, the Toronto Zoo is offering discounted admissions this weekend.
On Saturday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Nov. 25, the admission fee to the zoo will be $5. Normally, it costs $20 for ages 13 to 64; $15 for seniors; $11 for ages four to 11 to visit the zoo. Children age three and under are always free.
Spokesperson Cynthia Shipley said the promotion is a way of saying thank you to the community for all of its support.
“We thought it was the right thing to do, to throw a big thank you party for the community,” said Shipley, the zoo’s manager of public relations and events.
In addition to the discounted admission fee, visitors will also receive 20 per cent off all Zootique gift shop purchases plus a 15 per cent reduction in the cost of zoo memberships.
Buskers, and the zoo mascots will be on site to entertain visitors.
Shipley recommended zoo-goers purchase their discounted admissions online to avoid long line-ups this weekend.
While on-site parking at the zoo will remain $10, she said the TTC is aware of this weekend’s promotion and will run more vehicles to the zoo as result.
