A LARGE BOOK SALE FROM 9 a.m. to noon happens at Church of Christ the King, 475 Rathburn Rd. Come for toys, puzzles, CDs and books.

A RUMMAGE SALE takes place at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 1428 Royal York Rd. from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

THE WRITERS AND EDITORS Network meets at the Canadiana Restaurant at 9 a.m. with guest speaker Andrew Clark on the subject: Fact or Fiction, the importance of doing research. Cost is $15 for WEN members, $18 for non-WEN members. Fee includes breakfast. Advance registration is required. Contact Mickey Turnbull-Coughlin at 905-824-5035 to register.

OVER 200 FLEECE BLANKETS will be made and donated through "Project Linus" to comfort seriously ill, traumatized or distressed children throughout Ontario at a special event starting at noon, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 95 Melbert Rd. The young single adults will also participate in the "OneMatch" registry as bone marrow donors.

ST. DEMETRIUS CHURCH. 3338 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Browns Line and Kipling Avenue), hosts its annual Easter Bazaar from noon until 3 p.m. A lunch, home baking, traditional bread (paska), pyrohy (varenyky), cabbage rolls (holubtsi) and beautiful Easter eggs will be for sale. Also, crafts, a silent auction and raffle prizes. Admission is free. Call 416-255-7506.

THE WESTWAY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY is celebrating its 50th anniversary, at Royal York Baptist Church, 1520 Royal York Rd. 1t 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. TIBETAN ART EXHIBITION opening presented by the Etobicoke-based Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre features traditional Tibetan art, including intricately woven rugs, fabric hangings, sculptures and a sand mandala created by Tibetan monks at The Assembly Hall, 1 Colonel Sam Smith Park Dr. (at Kipling Avenue). Free. Show runs March 25 to April 22. Gallery hours: Monday to Friday noon to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Note gallery closed April 2 to 5 for Easter weekend.

Etobicoke Quilters' Guilds Biennian Quilt Show- Quilt Fever takes place at the Neilson Park Creative Centre, 56 Neilson Dr. Two galleries of quilts, members boutique, merchants mall, tea room, daily door prizes. Admission is $5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show continues on Saturday and Sunday.

THE ANNUAL OUT OF THE COLD Art Show takes place at All Saints Kingsway Church, 2850 Bloor St. W., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All of the art was created by individuals who are homeless or living in long-term poverty. All proceeds of the sale go the artists.

THE ETOBICOKE CENTENNIAL CHOIR (ECC), presents the second concert of its 2009-2010 season Entitled "Beethoven and Bernstein", the concert will feature contrasting choral works from each of these renowned composers, both undisputed musical geniuses of their times.
