Join in the Earth Hour festivities in Roncesvalles

Roncesvalles residents are invited to rally together to celebrate an hour before WWF's' globally recognized Earth Hour, Saturday, March 27.

Following the lead of Bloor West Village and The Junction, Roncesvalles Village will adopt a community outreach project formulated by environmental group, Green13 Toronto.

Simultaneously around the area, rallies with live performances, information on environmental initiatives and refreshments - courtesy of Parkdale-High Park MPP Cheri DiNovo, will prepare local revelers for scheduled 8:30 p.m. candlelight walks.

At Roncesvalles' Grafton Park, guest MC Diego Feuntez will engage attendees while presenting an interesting blend of musical performances and pausing for brief messages from Parkdale-High Park Councillor Gord Perks and Roncesvalles Macdonell Residents Association representative, Kevin Healy.

Diego will initiate a countdown and candle lighting ceremony before leading the candle baring crowd down Roncesvalles Avenue. Along the way will be occasional acoustic performers and cheering evidence of supporting businesses.

The walk ends at Howard Park where attendees are encouraged to patronize the local cafes, restaurants and pubs for a little Earth Hour Down Time.
