Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates soloists

The Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra presents the fourth concert of its 30th anniversary season, Celebrating our Soloists, on March 28 at 3 p.m.

The performance features some of the orchestra's principal players in concertos by Richard Strauss, Carl Maria von Weber and W. A. Mozart.

Principal horn Iris Krizmanic perform Strauss' First Horn Concerto. Kaye Royer takes centre stage in Weber's sparkling First Clarinet Concerto. Concertmaster Corey Gemmell and principal violist Julian Knight will come together to play Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for violin and viola. Rounding out the program are two Classical overtures: from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni and Beethoven's ballet score for The Creatures of Prometheus.

The pre-concert talk is at 2:15 p.m. Families are welcome.

Tickets: $30, seniors $25, youth $10.
