A REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE is hosted by Swansea Town Hall and the Swansea Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, honouring the men of Swansea who gave their lives in the Second World War and for whom the Swansea Memorial Library was created. We also honour all those who served Canada in wars and peacekeeping missions. Service starts at 10:45 a.m. at The Swansea Town Hall, 95 Lavinia Ave. in the Bloor and Windermere area. THE ALEX LING Fountain, five metres in height, will be illuminated as part of the Cavalcade of Lights taking place this evening between 6 and 8 p.m. Energy-efficient LED lighting displays also include 'Christmas in the Village' with Santa Claus arriving in his sleigh over the roof tops on Bloor Street West at Glendonwynne Road. Look for the animated coloured lights choreographed to music along with houses and scenery drawn by local school children.

THE CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE of St Pius X Parish, 2305 Bloor St. W., will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be home baked goods, crafts, white elephant, Christmas crafts, books, silent auction, raffles and lots more. Throughout the evening a number of holiday selections will be heard from featured musicians including Ben Heppner, Janie Kim, John McMurchy, and Paul Widner, with choirs from the Etobicoke School of the Arts and the Runnymede United Church. The reading is at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary at Runnymede United Church, 432 Runnymede Rd.
