Etobicoke Olympium hosting OFSAA swimming

Toronto also hosting OFSAA curling

Sidney Crosby's goal may have closed off the Vancouver Winter Olympics, but local high schools are still deep into their championships.

Some are further along than others.

After competing within their own local league (usually, but not always, their own school board), the best teams move on to the provincial championships, otherwise known as the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championships.

OFSAA SWIMMING

Toronto is currently in the midst of hosting the OFSAA swimming championships at the Etobicoke Olympium with the second and final day of action continuing today (Wednesday, March 3).

Results for Tuesday, March 2 have already been posted and are easily accessible on OFSAA's website. Just go to http://www.ofsaa.on.ca/swimming/ (and click on results).

Also of interest might be the Toronto District School Board's own swimming championships, which were also held at the Etobicoke Olympium last month.

To access these results, log onto the TDSB's website at www.tdsb.on.ca (then click TDSB sports and then click swimming).

THIS WEEK

OFSAA wrestling kicked off today (Wednesday, March 3) and runs until Friday, March 5 at the Tillsonburg Special Event Centre. Log onto http://www.ofsaa.on.ca/wrestling/

The TDSB didn't post complete results from its own championships other than to say Newtonbrook SS won boys, girls and, obviously, overall titles.

OFSAA snowboarding runs today (Wednesday, March 3) at Georgian Peaks, click here http://www.ofsaa.on.ca/snowboarding/

TDSB did not post local results this season.

UPCOMING THIS MONTH

Upcoming this month are OFSAA boys basketball (March 8-10), girls volleyball (March 9, 10), hockey (week of March 22 to 26) and curling (March 24 to 27), the latter in Toronto.
