The fun has begun in high school sports with the winter semester - which includes boys basketball, girls volleyball and boys and girls hockey - either in, or on the cusp of, the post season.
In particular, the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) close out the regular season for all of the above sports on Thursday, Feb. 11.The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has already begun its playoffs, with some boys basketball playoffs kicking off Feb. 3.Girls volleyball follows suit Monday, Feb. 8 with a whole whack of opening round games.Most of the hockey playoffs come on stream later in the month.Both public and Catholic boards have comprehensive websites with the latest scores, schedules and standings.For the public board, log onto to the TDSB website at www.tdsb.on.ca and then link to 'TDSB sports'.For the Catholic league, they play under the banner of the Toronto District Colleges Athletic Association (TDCAA) and their website is at www.tdcaa.org.Also of note, both boards will hold their citywide swim meets, as usual, at the Etobicoke Olympium - the Catholic board on Wednesday, Feb. 10, and the public board on Thursday, Feb. 18.
