Women's soccer tournament raises money for breast cancer

The 4th annual Kick 4 the Cure indoor soccer tournament in Scarborough raised more than $4,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Ontario region, on April 25.

The championship game saw the Toronto Rangers from Etobicoke win over Scarborough United Strikers with a final score of 4-1.

Toronto Rangers Natalie 'Lefty' Brace and Scarborough United Strikers player Sara Ross won most valuable player awards.

The top fundraising teams were the Scarborough United Stars with $2,527 and Leaside with $1,705.25.

Top individual fundraisers were April Cheng, of the Scarborough United Stars, who raised $855. Jennifer Alexander, of the Revolution FC, raised $810 and Janice Kent, of Leaside raised $597.

The event was held at the Scarborough Soccer Centre.
