Toronto high school sports teams head into post season. Furthest along are cross country and girls field hockey with championships this week.

Here's a quick update. For more details check the board's sports websites listed at the end of the article.

CROSS COUNTRY

TDSB CHAMPIONSHIP: Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Centennial Park in Etoboke. Coaches meeting at 9:30 a.m. followed by delayed starts for midget girls (10:30 a.m.), midget boys (11 a.m.), junior girls (11:30 a.m.), junior boys (noon), senior girls (12:45 p.m.) and senior boys 1:30 p.m. Award ceremonies 2:15 p.m.

TCDSB CHAMPIONSHIP: Friday, Oct. 28 at Centennial Park in Etobicoke.

FIELD HOCKEY

(TDSB)

Championship final, Thursday, Oct. 27, 3 p.m.;

Semifinals Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The north (North York) division finalists have a bye into the semifinals (York Mills CI playing at 2 p.m. and Earl Haig SS at 3:30 p.m.)

The remaining two divisions (south and east) must play a quarterfinal round on Monday, Oct. 24 as follows:

* 1:30 p.m., North Toronto vs Birchmount Park

* 3 p.m., Sir John A Macdonald vs Malvern

NOTE: all of the above games to be played at Birchmount Park Stadium.

Here are the results from last weeks divisional finals:

* East division: Birchmount Park 2, Sir John A Macdonald 0;

* South division: Malvern 4, North Toronto 1

* North division: York Mills 2, Earl Haig 0

* west division: (did not participate)

FOOTBALL

Both TDSB and TCDSB play in the same loop.

Regular season for senior (and junior) tier one ends Friday, Oct. 21.

Playoffs commence with next week's games.

BOYS SOCCER

TDSB: south division starts playoffs Monday, Oct. 24 leading to championship game Nov. 3, 3 p.m. at Cherry Beach; and north division starts playoffs Wednesday, Oct. 26 leading to championship game Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2 p.m. at Esther Shiner Stadium.

* east and west divisions play a spring schedule.

TCDSB: senior boys play a spring schedule

GIRLS BASKETBALL

TDSB: east division has wrapped up the regular season, south, west and north divisions complete regular season Tuesday, Oct. 25

TCDSB: regular season ends Nov. 3

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

TDSB: playoffs start Oct. 31 with some divisions, later for others.

TCDSB: regular season ends Nov. 4
