Intercounty Baseball League's Toronto Maple Leafs are set for another baseball season opener at their home field - Dominico Field at Christie Pits Park - this Sunday, May 6, 2 p.m. against Ottawa.
Located at the corner of Bloor Street West and Christie Street, it's just steps from Christie subway station.
The Leafs are eight-time winners of the IBL, which is fielding nine teams from throughout southern Ontario this season.
Last year, they had a decent 22-13 regular season, followed by a couple of exciting best-of-seven playoff series that went the limit, beating Burlington in the opening round, but then bowing out to eventual champion Brantford in the second round.
Toronto's usual game time is Sunday, 2 p.m. at Christie Pits, in fact they're scheduled in for every Sunday this season with a couple of Wednesday night starts also sprinkled in.
