Olympium health club to reopen by month's end

March 19, 2009

Restoration at the Etobicoke Olympium took longer than expected, but health club members can return later this month.

A flood in mid-January dumped an estimated 120,000 litres of water on the fitness centre, which necessitated its closure for the past two months.

Regular programs, services and activities resume at 6 a.m. March 30.

Flood damage included the mechanical room, personal items in lockers, and the hardwood floor in the fitness studio.

Members will receive a new card with a changed expiry date extended the number of weeks the club was closed, officials said.
