A 75-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday.

The accident occurred at Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue at 3:47 p.m.

The senior was conscious but bleeding from the head when emergency crews arrived. She was taken by ambulance to Sunnybrook hospital.

Police closed the westbound lanes of Sheppard for their investigation.

Seven pedestrains were killed while crossing city streets last month, prompting police to launch a month-long pedestrian safety blitz last week.
