A screening of the animated film Monsters vs. Aliens slated for this Friday in Port Credit has been switched to another movie about a young boy and a magical candy factory.
Tim Burton's 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Johnny Depp, will replace Monsters vs. Aliens
at the Rotary Club of Mississauga Lakeshore's Movie Nights in the Park
at Port Credit Memorial Park. Organizers said because a theatre in
Mississauga decided to screen Monsters vs. Aliens a little longer than
originally expected, the Rotary Club had to make the switch.
About 500 people turned up this past Friday to enjoy a free screening of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.
The series continues with E.T. (July 24), Ironman (Aug. 7), Journey to the Centre of the Earth (Aug. 14) and Up (Aug. 28).
The movies start about 8:15 p.m. and admission is free.
Organizers have asked those interested in attending to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.
