TTC needs to work with the community

To the editor:

Re: 'LRT must heed lessons of St. Clair,' Letter, Feb. 25.

Councillor Ceasar Palacio's letter (Feb. 25) on LRT on St. Clair is insightful.

Unfortunately, the TTC view all those affected by their proposals as narrow-minded idiots rather than multi-talented people who know far more about the neighbourhood than they do. This elitist culture is widespread in the City of Toronto.

If the TTC worked with the community from the start a very much better improvement scheme would have evolved. The attitude of staff and those elected is a severe restriction on Toronto achieving its potential.
