Christmas lights helps brighten a long winter

To the editor:

Re: 'Turn off Christmas lights,' Letters, Jan. 22.

Christmas has come and gone, but winter goes on and on, forever it sometimes seems. We need ways to face this dark cold season, and cheerful coloured lights can help a lot. So I'll be leaving up my lights up until maybe the beginning of March, or even the solstice if it seems necessary.

But relax about the resources; they are low-drain LEDs and on a timer for evening hours only.
