Restaurant staff also deserve time off, reader writes

To the editor:

Re: 'More time should be spent with family,' Letters, Jan. 6.

Letter writer Murray Hedges states how nice and quiet it was to spend a day with no shopping, while mentioning he met up with some people at a restaurant.

Apparently, restaurant staff are not as entitled to a day off as retail staff.

If he truly valued people being able to spend more time with family on holidays he would not frequent establishments that require staff to work on holidays.

Maybe he should stick to walks in the park and staying home with his family and not making an underpaid overworked wait staff serve him.
