Open Letter to Etobcioke North Councillor Vincent Crisanti:
I am very disappointed that you did not support Josh Colle's amendment to put back millions of dollars worth of services back on the table at the recent budget vote. Clearly, his amendment restored some of the services that our community so vitally needs. At a public meeting at the Albion library recently, which you attended, it was made very clear to you that many residents of your ward rely heavily on those services and wanted them protected. You had the opportunity to stand up for those residents, at a vote where many of your fellow councilors chose to do so. It is shameful that the needs of a significant proportion of your constituents, those would have been disproportionately affected by the service cuts as proposed, did not sway your position. It was clear that staying in Mayor Rob Ford's inner circle was more important to you than defending regular Torontonians. Thankfully there were enough councilors of principle who voted to support a better way and prevent Ford's budget from proceeding.Nigel Barriffe
