Seniors' style missing from store racks

To the editor:

Re: 'Retail market doesn't cater to seniors,' Letters, Jan. 12

I would like to respond to the letter written by Marian Yorke. I went all the way to a North Queen Street mall to check out a women's store as I was looking for a pair of wool slacks the retailer had made a number of years ago.

When I referred the item label to the store workers, who were just standing around talking to one another, they both just shrugged and told me that the manufacturer did not make them any more. They did this with no offer to help me find something else.

I looked around the store but there was nothing that I wanted.

I tried on a couple of pairs of pants, but as Mrs. Yorke stated, they were made for a younger generation.

I finally found what I wanted at Zellers. Mrs. Yorke, if you're reading this letter, try Zellers. There is also a beautiful nearly new store on Bloor Street, just west of Royal York Road.

Good luck with your shopping.
