Harsher penalties for drinking and driving required
Being a 16-year-old girl who is just easing her way into the world of driver's education, the issue of drinking and driving and underage drinking scares me.
Stores must have a firmer screening process when people are buying alcohol. Maybe the justice system has to be harsher or the laws for minors need to be a little less forgiving, either way something needs to be done to make our city streets safer for everyone.
I do understand that the profit for liquor stores may take a hit, however, people have to realize that money comes and goes but we only have one life to live, and I would like to spend mine without the fear of drunk drivers on Toronto streets.
