Real solutions can't be found in six months

Regarding the findings of a panel of business people who tried to find savings for the city.

I find it amazing that within less than six months, a panel is assembled and they are able to develop solutions to the city's financial issues.

I can tell you from working in the private sector that these individuals on the panel didn't have to look too far to find these solutions. Nor could they dig deep in six months to find real spending issues.

For the mayor to say the city is run effectively and this is vindication is a joke. For those who live in the business world, Fortune 100 companies are reviewing their cost containment down to business lunches and freezing spending at the first sign of a slowdown.

I heard a comment on the news that the panel called the review of council spending as "noise".

It's not noise to the Toronto taxpayer who must find the money for the increases.
