Police have issued a public safety alert after a 45-year-old woman in a motorized wheelchair was robbed of a fanny pack containing medication.
The incident happened on Saturday, Sept. 4 at about 9:30 p.m. near Broadview Avenue and Thompson Street.Police report a male suspect approached the woman and grabbed her fanny pack containing 27 Percocet tablets, 54 Oxycontin tablets (20 mg), and 27 Oxycontin tablets (40 mg) before fleeing the scene in a westerly direction.The pills could be harmful in ingested, especially by children.The victim was not injured.The suspect is described as a white male, 5'5", about 155 pounds with a thin build.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5500, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
