Wanted man turns himself in

A 24-year-old Toronto man wanted for the June 1 robbery and assault of a senior turned himself into 53 Division earlier this week.

Thushjanthan Vigneswaran reportedly struck a man several times in the back of the head with a blunt object before robbing him of his wallet near Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

The victim was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Vigneswaran, who surrendered to authorities on Monday, Aug. 30, is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and robbery.

He had an Aug. 30 court appearance.
