Make an appointment, get child safety seat checked

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) offers free inspection of your child safety seat installation at many of its stations.

As Toronto Police Service members provide this inspection in addition to their regular duties, residents are asked to call ahead and book an appointment.

If you just show up at a station you may be disappointed. New parents are asked to call well in advance of their expected due date.

To properly install your seat, read both your child safety seat instruction booklet and your vehicle owner's manual. Police officers will gladly inspect your installation. Any seat that is installed incorrectly will be made right before you leave.

This free service is offered on an appointment-only basis. Additionally, the TPS, in conjunction with the Child Safety Seat Coalition, offers open seat clinics at various times during the year. Contact your location police station for information or to book an appointment.
