Caribana Parade will cause road closures on Saturday

The 43rd Annual Scotiabank Caribana Parade will take place this Saturday, July 31.

The parade starts at Exhibition Place at 10 a.m. and will proceed westbound, along Lake Shore Boulevard West, to Parkside Drive.

Traffic conditions downtown, on Lake Shore Boulevard West, the Queensway, Queen's Quay West and the Gardiner Expressway are expected to be very heavy. The Toronto Police Service is urging people to use public transit when coming to the downtown area.

The following closures will be in effect on Saturday, July 31, from 1:30 a.m., until Sunday, Aug. 1, at 6 a.m.

- eastbound Lake Shore Boulevard West, from Colborne Lodge Drive to Strachan Avenue,

- westbound Lake Shore Boulevard West, from Strachan Avenue to Parkside Drive.
