Man robbed and hit on head during mugging

Police are looking for a male suspect who allegedly mugged a 40-year-old man on Sunday, July 25.

The robbery happened at about 3:29 a.m. as the victim was walking near Yonge and Wellesley streets.

Police report the suspect called over the victim engaging him in conversation before suddenly striking him about the head with an unknown object. The victim was knocked unconscious as a result of the blow.

The suspect then reportedly removed the victim's wallet, cellphone and keys before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim received major injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10" with a thin build.
