The Toronto Police's G20 investigative team has apprehended eight men and one youth allegedly connected to damages done during the recent G20 Summit.
Cody Caplette, 21, and Philip Lee, 28, both of Toronto, were arrested Thursday, July 15.Caplette has been charged with one court of mischief over $5,000 and one count of intimidation of a justice system participant by threat.Lee has been charged with mischief under $5,000, theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and threatening damage and assault.The accused were allegedly involved in the damaging of a Toronto Police Services car on Saturday, June 26. Lee also reportedly stole police equipment and assaulted a member of the public.On Sunday, July 18 and Monday, July 19, police arrested six more men and one youth also wanted for criminal acts allegedly committed on Saturday, June 26 during the international conference.Kurt Roarco, 22, of no fixed address, has been charged with mischief over $5,000, arson-damage to property and failing to comply with probation.Jeffrey Delaney, 23, of Toronto, is charged with mischief over $5,000 and attempted theft over $5,000.Andrew Loughrin, 23, Michael Corbett, 29, Bryan O'Handley, 19, and Robert Kainola, 24, all of Toronto, have been charged with mischief over $5,000.A young offender, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is also facing two counts of mischief over $5,000.All of the accused were held in police custody before their hearings.Anyone with information, images or video footage relating to the two accused or other wanted individuals wanted in connection with crimes committed during the G20 Summit is asked to send it to g20investigativeteam@torontopolice.on.ca.
