British man arrested

A 29-year-old British man was arrested Tuesday, June 29 for allegedly impersonating a peace officer.

Police report Charlie Veitch was filming near the G20 Summit security fence at Front and York streets on Thursday, June 24.

At that time, a security officer approached and asked him to provide identification. Veitch reportedly indicated he was not carrying ID as he was working as an undercover peace officer.

A short time later, Toronto Police Service issued a warrant for his arrest.

Peel Regional Police arrested Veitch on June 29 as he was about to board a plane at Pearson airport.

Veitch had a June 30 court appearance.
