North York General Hospital is giving a whole new meaning to the idea of kicking up your heels.
On Sunday, May 2, walkers sporting shoes with a minimum three-inch heel will walk five laps around the upper level of Fairview Mall at Sheppard Avenue and Don Mills Road. The event, called Heels to Heal, will support women's health care programs at the hospital.So, if you're looking for a chance to show off those new spring and summer shoes and raise money for a good cause, this is the right event for you.To participate, walkers must be at least 16 years old and raise a minimum donation of $60 online by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, May 1.All donations must be submitted online and prizes for participants include a Fairview gift bag with special discounts and samples for the first 300 participants to register online before May 1.One lucky participant will receive an afternoon with a mall style consultant and a $250 Cadillac Fairview "shop! card" to get started on a new wardrobe.Meanwhile, one winner will receive $1,000 in shop! cards, a second winner will receive $500 in shop! cards and a third will win $250 in shop! cards.The team with the highest donations will also be given $1,000 in shop! cards.All proceeds from the event will go towards buying cutting-edge equipment for women's health issues at North York General.For more information about Heels to Heal, visit www.heelstoheal.ca
