Fairford Avenue, just west of Coxwell Avenue, will be closed to vehicular traffic from Monday, March 22 until Friday, April 23.
The City of Toronto's Transportation Services Department is conducting a traffic study of the six-lane, suburban style intersection, which is slated to be redesigned. The study is in response to safety concerns on the west side of Coxwell and Fairford avenues as well as complaints the intersection isn't pedestrian friendly.The city will examine what happens to traffic volumes east and west of Coxwell Avenue when Fairford Avenue is closed to traffic from Upper Gerrard Street.Toronto-Danforth Councillor Paula Fletcher wants to hear about area traffic concerns from local stakeholders.Call 416-392-4060 to give your feedback.
