Warning issued after residents wake up to prowler

Police have issued a public safety alert following a series of suspicious incidents in the downtown core.

Investigators report that between Tuesday, March 9 and Wednesday, March 17, a man entered several locked and unlocked homes in the early-morning hours. The residences tended to be primarily occupied by students.

The male suspect would strike up brief conversations with the female occupant(s) then leave.

The incidents occurred in an area bounded by College Street to the north, Queen Street West to the south, University Avenue to the east, and Spadina Avenue to the west.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 25 years old, 5'10", and 150 pounds with blue eyes, and either balding or a shaved head.
