An elderly pedestrian suffered serious head injuries after being struck by a car Wednesday.
The accident occurred at about 9:55 a.m. on Faywood Boulevard near Bainbridge Avenue, south of Sheppard Avenue.The pedestrian, an 80-year-old woman, was conscious and breathing but bleeding heavily from the head when emergency crews arrived. She was taken to Humber River Regional Hospital's Church site.A portion of Faywood was closed for the remainder of the morning as police from the traffic services unit investigated.
