Man shot in leg during robbery attempt

A 41-year-old man made his own way to hospital after being shot in the upper leg at a Scarborough park early Sunday.

Police said the victim turned up at Rouge Valley Health System's Centenary site at about 3 a.m.

"The hospital notified us that he was there with a gun wound," Det. Sgt. Sean Brosnan said.

The victim told police two men tried to rob him in Rosebank Park near Sheppard Avenue and Markham Road and that he was shot while running away.

The would-be robbers are 20 to 25.

"He (victim) wasn't able to provide a description," Brosnan said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 42 Division at 416-808-4200.
