Teen injured after robbery attempt

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being attacked during a robbery attempt Thursday, March 11.

Police said the teen was walking in the Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue area when six males came up to him around 8:40 a.m.

A verbal confrontation ensued. One suspect then grabbed the victim by the shirt collar and pushed him against a wall. The other thugs then punched the victim in the face.

One suspect indicated he was armed though no weapon was seen.

The suspects fled south on Weston Road empty-handed. One is black, 15 to 16 years old, 5'4" tall, 145 pounds with brown eyes. Another is black, 15 to 16, 5'10" tall, 175 pounds with brown eyes and short black hair. There are vague descriptions of the others.
