A 51-year-old cabbie was choked and punched about the head during a March 10 robbery.
The incident happened at about 12:19 p.m. when the taxi driver picked up a male and female fare at the Warden Subway Station, at 701 Warden Ave.The taxi driver was initially directed to drive to Fairford and Rhodes avenues and drop off the female passenger.He was then told to proceed to a nearby address at Valifor Place and Torbrick Road. While en route, the male suspect reportedly choked and punched the victim in the head before removing a quantity of cash and a bag containing several of his personal items.
