A 61-year-old North York General Hospital anesthesiologist is facing charges after three women complained to Toronto police that they had been sexually assaulted during surgery.Dr. George Doodnaught, who has worked at North York General for 28 years, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.According to police, the assaults took place while the victims were under anesthetic and undergoing surgical procedures in the hospital between August 2007 and February 2010.Investigators believe there may be more victims. Anyone who witnessed, heard or saw anything that may help in the investigation is asked to call police at 416-808-4040 or anonymously at 416-222-8477.Meanwhile, the hospital, which has scheduled a press conference for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, has set up a number for patient inquiries: 416-756-6271.Police said Doodnaught, of Toronto, has also worked at other facilities in the Greater Toronto Area. Investigators will be working with the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons to determine if there are other victims.
