An 18-year-old man is recovering after being beaten during a robbery in northeast Scarborough Tuesday, March 9, night.
Police said three males jumped out of a car and came up to the victim at Trefoil Court and Grosbeak Crescent around 10:40 p.m. The victim was beaten with a baseball bat and robbed of his wallet, cellphone and house key.The teen suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He didn't know his attackers. Det. Sgt. Sean Brosnan of 42 Division said the attack was unprovoked. "We do get a fair amount of street robberies but usually not with that kind of violence," he said.The robbers are 17 to 23 years old. Two had long hair.
