Charges laid after attempted subway platform pushing

A 49-year-old woman is facing three charges after allegedly attempting to push a woman and her baby onto the subway tracks.

The incident happened on Friday, Feb. 5 just before 11:40 a.m. at the Bay subway station.

Police report a 33-year-old mother and her six-month-old baby were walking on the station's westbound platform when the accused pushed them toward the tracks.

The woman managed to avoid falling onto the tracks.

Anne Carruthers, of Toronto, has been charged with one count of assault and two counts of mischief endangering life.

She had a Feb. 6 court appearance.
