Police want to speak with people who can help them trace the weekend movements of 30-year-old Glenn Lowe before he was gunned down at 11:12 p.m. Sunday.

Lowe was shot while on the side porch of a house at 1562 Jane St., south of Lawrence Avenue. He died at the scene.

"I don't believe it to be a random shooting," Det. Sgt. Dan Sheppard said.

The gunman fled south on Jane in a four-door car.

Sheppard, of the homicide squad, said Lowe knew a resident of 1562 Jane but didn't live in the home though "he might have stayed there at times."

Sheppard wouldn't disclose how many shots were fired or where Lowe was hit.

This is the city's sixth murder of the year.

Police are examining surveillance videos as part of the investigation.

Sheppard said witnesses or people who know what Lowe did over the weekend are asked to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sheppard at 416-808-7814 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

On Tuesday, police posted a video appeal on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
